Graphic Designer

GRAPHIC DESIGNER 

 

Status: Non-Exempt, hourly

Reports to: Communications Director

 

Summary of Role

Responsible for creation of visual concepts, by hand or using software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate our internal and external audiences. This also includes all external marketing needs.  

 

Position Status & Schedule

Non-Exempt, full-time (40 hours), Monday - Friday 9am-5pm. Christmas and Easter service dates and times are black out days for time off. There may be other events that you are required to work outside of your normal schedule, you will be informed in advance of any of these requirements.

 

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

       Responsible for conceptualization and implementation of design of solutions that meet marketing strategies, taking project from concept to completion.

       Meet with ministries to determine scope of project and advise on how to best reach target audience

       Present design to ministry department. Receive feedback and adjust as necessary.

       Create and produce visual solutions and elements for use during worship services.

       Design and layout visual concepts and advertisements for external marketing needs.

       Work with graphic design team in creating concepts, comps, layouts and final art.

       Work as part of the Communications Team assisting to reinforce consistent, yet creative, branding for Celebration Church.

       Work alongside the Communications Team to implement all copy and image changes throughout church website and in weekly email communication.

       Mentor other designer(s) and Dream Teams that give their time to deliver graphic elements.

       Collaborate in creative brainstorming sessions for special events and services where assigned

       Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours 

       Knowledge of printing procedures is a plus

 

Education & Experience

       Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design from an accredited college and/or comparable apprenticeship or work experience

       Ability to demonstrate a high level of proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite programs: Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign

 

Work Environment & Physical Demands

       Must be able to stand, stoop, walk, and lift 20 pounds 

       Open office environment
