Event Childcare Coordinator

Supervisor: Kids Director

 

Summary of Role

Lead the Event Childcare team and program under the guidance of the KiDS Director.

 

Position Status & Schedule

Non-exempt, part-time (15-20 hours per week). Saturday 3pm-4:30pm, Sunday 7:30am-9am, Tuesday 8:30am-11:30am, Wednesday 5pm-9pm and an additional 2-5 hours offsite doing administrative tasks. Christmas, Easter and Dream Team Appreciation service dates and times are black out days for time off. There may be other events that you are required to work outside of your normal schedule, you will be informed in advance of any of these requirements.

 

 

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

Leadership:

·       Train, lead and schedule Event Childcare team

·       Responsible for maintaining and improving childcare program under the guidance of KiDS Director

·       Responsible for Event Childcare sessions ensuring safe, high quality care of children and an excellent environment.

·       Assist with care of children as needed.

·       Build and maintain relationships with Event Childcare Team Members, encourage healthy spiritual growth, and address any pastoral care needs.

·       Communicate with parents, build relationships, and assist in equipping them with resources.

·       Meet and collaborate with KiDS staff as needed.

Financial:

·       Enter all Event Childcare expenses into applicable procurement system and maintain up to date expense reports 

·       Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed

Administrative:

·       Schedule workers and assist in finding subs. Schedule includes Small Group childcare, pre-service childcare, Legacy Breakfasts and occasional churchwide events and campuses.

·       Conduct orientation and training for new Event Childcare Team Members.

·       Provide ongoing training, development, and resources for Event Childcare Team.

·       Develop age-appropriate schedules, activities and crafts for children.

·       Plan for future events and short-term and long-term program development.

·       Communicate consistently with the Team, providing information and encouragement and ensuring policies and expectations are clear.

·      Attend trainings as needed.

 

Education & Experience

·       2+ years of experience in teaching or childcare setting. Related certification and/or education preferred.

·       Experience leading, scheduling and training

·       6+ months serving in the regular rotation with a Celebration KiDS Dream Team

·       Passionate about children and ministry.

 

 

Work Environment & Physical Demands

·      Must be able to stand (for extended periods of time), stoop, walk, and lift 20 pounds.

·      Open office environment
