Summary of Role

Care for children ages 6 weeks through 5th grade during church events.


Position Status & Schedule

Part-time, schedule varies. 

Saturday 3pm-4:30pm for pre-service – on rotation

Sunday 8am-9am for pre-service – on rotation

Sunday 4pm-7pm for small group childcare – on rotation

Wednesday 6pm-9pm for small group childcare - required

Events - Radiant conference, Pursuit weeks, etc. (you will be informed of these events as soon as possible)


Primary Functions & Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment for children

Ensure development of positive relationships with children 

Provide comfort to distressed children through compassion and tact

Support children during snack time and ensure that their nutritional needs are fulfilled

Change diapers and help children in cleaning themselves

Oversee children and make sure that they are safe during outdoor activities

Follow drop off and pick up procedures and interact professionally with parents, communicating well and building relationships

Arrive early to set up and remain until all children are picked up and rooms are clean and put back in order

Heart to teach, grow, and be engaged with the next generation

Outstanding communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

Natural ability to relate well to parents to communicate progress and/or problems

Understanding of the importance of childcare standards and guidelines


Education & Experience

Must be a current Celebration Kids Dream Team member

Attend Connection Point, Steps 1- 4 

Must maintain an approved status on biennial background check  

Attend all KIDS trainings 

Must have (or be willing to obtain) training and experience necessary to develop consistent, stable, and supportive relationships with young children.


Work Environment & Physical Demands

Able to stand, stoop, kneel, walk, run, and lift (up to 30 pounds)
