Facilities Custodian

Title: Facilities Custodian  

Reports To: Facilities Coordinator     


Summary of Role

Ensure that all campus buildings are clean and ready for daily operations


Position Status & Schedule

Non-exempt, full-time (40 hours) with varied schedule including weekends, weekdays and evenings


Primary Functions & Responsibilities

Keep the church facility clean, attractive, and well-maintained, ensuring that it is always presentable 

Prepare the auditoriums and other rooms for services, meetings, and church events

Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools as needed

Observe proper chemical handling procedures when working with cleaning agents, including wearing gloves, goggles, or masks and following written or verbal instructions.

Take inventory of cleaners and other supplies and submitting requests when items need to be replenished

Interact with church staff and visitors in a respectful, positive manner

Education & Experience

2+ years’ relevant work experience


Work Environment & Physical Demands

Able to stand, stoop, walk and lift heavy objects (50 pounds) and work in a variety of weather conditions, with exposure to outdoor elements 

Able to perform repetitive physical cleaning tasks
